Abhijit Muhurat Start Time

Abhijit Muhurat End Time

Abhijit Muhurat (अभिजीत मुहूर्त) is a highly auspicious time window that occurs during midday, approximately 24 minutes before and after the exact middle point of the day. Unlike other Muhurtas that are determined by planetary positions or lunar phases, Abhijit Muhurat is calculated based on the Sun's transit across the sky. It is considered one of the most powerful and favorable times for initiating important tasks, especially when other suitable Muhurtas are unavailable.

Significance in Vedic Astrology:

Abhijit Muhurat is believed to neutralize doshas (malefic influences) and ensure success in endeavors. It is associated with Lord Vishnu, symbolizing protection and victory. This period is often recommended for starting new ventures, making important decisions, or performing significant rituals. Its inherent auspiciousness makes it a universally beneficial Muhurat, regardless of an individual’s astrological chart.

Calculation of Abhijit Muhurat:

Abhijit Muhurat is calculated as the 8th Muhurat of the day. To determine it:

  1. Calculate the total duration of the day from sunrise to sunset.
  2. Identify the midpoint of the day.
  3. Abhijit Muhurat spans approximately 48 minutes, centered around this midpoint, with 24 minutes before and after.

For example, if sunrise is at 6:00 AM and sunset at 6:00 PM, the day’s duration is 12 hours. The midpoint is 12:00 PM, and Abhijit Muhurat will fall between 11:36 AM and 12:24 PM.

Exceptions to Abhijit Muhurat:

Abhijit Muhurat is not considered during certain days and planetary alignments:

  • Avoided on Wednesdays due to its overlap with Rahu Kaal (an inauspicious period).
  • Not recommended when the Sun is transiting through the 10th or 12th houses in a personal chart or during eclipses.
